Terms of Service for WebSum: AI Blog Summaries

Last updated: 9 October 2026 · Published by six9dev

These terms apply when you use WebSum, the Chrome extension and the related service made by six9dev ("we", "us"). By installing or using WebSum you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use WebSum.

What WebSum does

WebSum summarises articles you choose to summarise, including their images, and shows the summary in Chrome's side panel. Summaries are written by AI models from third-party providers.

Accounts

Plans, billing and cancelling

Fair use

Pro includes a daily limit and a monthly fair-use allowance. After a very busy month, summaries switch to a faster model, and they may pause until the next month. The account screen in WebSum shows how much of the allowance you've used.

Acceptable use

Please don't:

To protect your privacy, WebSum refuses to read private apps such as email, documents, chats and AI assistants (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend accounts that break these rules.

Busy periods

To keep WebSum running affordably, we set a monthly limit on AI processing across the whole service. If WebSum gets very busy, free and guest summaries may pause until the next month before Pro summaries are affected.

AI summaries can be wrong

Summaries are generated automatically and can be incomplete or inaccurate. Each point links to the paragraph it came from, so check the original article before relying on a summary, and don't use summaries as professional (for example legal, medical or financial) advice.

Content

The articles you read belong to their publishers. Summaries are for your personal use. You're responsible for how you share them.

Privacy

How we handle your data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Availability and changes

We work to keep WebSum available, but it may sometimes be interrupted, and features may change. We may update these terms; if a change matters to you, we'll tell you in WebSum or by email before it takes effect.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, WebSum is provided "as is", and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. This doesn't exclude any liability that can't be excluded by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
